Galway to Dublin

We woke up to a huge wind storm (rated yellow) today with lashing rain. All we could think about was how lucky we have been with our weather since we arrived in Ireland. Yesterday's tour or Connemara and all our hiking days would have been miserable with a day like this. We heard that the Cliffs of Moher would be closed today because of the wind.

We decided against anymore wandering the streets of Galway and just headed to the train station in time for the 11am train to Dublin. It was delayed along the way by fallen trees, but only by 45 minutes. We got ourselves to our hotel right near O'Connell St. Then out to wander a bit before going to Gogerty's pub for dinner and where we had tickets for the musical pub crawl. Wendy and I had done this last April when we were in Dublin but this is Judy's first visit and we were keen to do it again.

Shall we bring a little Guinness home with us!

Our last pub dinner with Judy who flies home tomorrow.

We all had the Guinness beef pie with fries. It looked great but tasted just ok.

Luke and Anthony - our musicians for the evening's pub crawl.
It was so good, everyone enjoyed it. Amazing musicians.  They sang, played guitar, accordion and bodhrán (Irish drum). Also lots of back and forth banter between them - all good fun!

Sláinte (cheers)
